I am the one of three daughters. I am wife to my wonderful husband, Steve. I am also a former homeschooling mom to Joshua, Anna, and Christopher. Forever angels in heaven’s mom, Mary Elizabeth, 9-3-98~9-4-98 and Christian, miscarried, May, 1997.

I enjoy scrapbooking, cooking (esp.baking), gardening, bird watching, photography, and hanging out with my kids! The above picture is Anna as a newborn. That photo of her sleeping is one of my favorites. We are sitting in the backyard swing that Steve built in his workshop.

Our journey with autism on March 4, 1995.  I didn’t know it at the time.  Our very special son was born, a beautiful little boy, so full of wonder and life.  It was one of the happiest days of our lives.  We say that on this day, “Josh marched forth”, hence his birthdate!  He has been marching ever since, here and there and everywhere.  He was a sometimes fussy baby, a curious toddler, a very active preschooler and mischievous too!  He grew into a witty and wonderful little boy, now a kind and loving teenager.  Josh was officially diagnosed with Asperger at the age of 10.  It has been a very interesting and sometimes puzzling journey for our family, as we struggle to understand the complexity of it all.  We accept Josh as he is, a beautiful creation of God.  Our hope is that others will do the same.  I love this quote by another one of God’s creations, who also happens to have autism:

“We each have our own way of living in the world, together we are
like a symphony.
Some are the melody, some are the rhythm, some are the harmony

It all blends together, we are like a symphony, and
each part is crucial.
We all contribute to the song of life.”
